Spearman
Spear

'

A Spearman is any soldier that fights with a spear.[]

A Spear is a weapon, which is a long shaft, usually made of wood. The spear can either have the shaft sharped at the end, or may have a hard and sharp material at the end, like iron, or steel as the head.

There are two general kinds of spears. Ones for thrusting, and ones for throwing. The throwing kinds are called javelins.

Spears were used in pretty much every single armed conflict all the way up to the Modern Era, with their spiritual successor, the bayonet still being used to this day by some countries, although it's use has diminished over the past years, now being used for ceremonies, and rarely for combat.

Spears were originally used for fishing.

Spears can be used by one or both hands, and was commonly used with a shield.
